.. _about: About OpenRPS ============= The Open Radiation Physics Suite (OpenRPS) is a suite of hobby projects created by Muhsin H. Younis (myounis@psu.edu), in July of 2025, and released in August of 2026. For the time being, it focuses on deterministic radiation transport calculations, primarily in the context of coupled X-ray-electron transport. To this end, it consists of a space-angle Boltzmann transport code :ref:`Lionbolt `, a multigroup cross section generating code :ref:`NittanyPhysics `, and a python package which can post-process results of both of these codes, :ref:`Terpdose `. OpenRPS was built on the notes of a program previously created by the same author, 'wiscobolt' (2023). These notes are available in the now-archived repository of wiscobolt, https://github.com/mhyounis/wiscobolt, in the ``docs`` folder. These documents may be of interest to some, however, wiscobolt itself is very prone to breaking, and with the release of Lionbolt its use is not recommended. License ------- OpenRPS\ :sup:`TM`, Lionbolt, NittanyPhysics, and Terpdose are licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) 3.0.
